The Ginger Jug Band - Cds Available

A double CD containing many early Ginger Jug Band album tracks and live performances..

In 1972 The Ginger Jug Band recorded their only album "The Ginger Jug Band." This album was sold at gigs and & consequently today is difficult to get hold of. The album has since become a collector’s item and has been seen in vinyl specialist dealerships at prices that run into three figures... £400 (£600) has been quoted. The original plan was to re-master the original vinyl album as a single CD. However, as time went by more recordings of the band started to show up, and these included recordings from Rehearsals and Gigs. In the end it was decided to create a DOUBLE CD... the album was released under the name .

The DOUBLE CD contains a total of 41 tracks totaling over 2 hours of music.. CD1 is made up of 22 tracks of which the first 14 were released as the original vinyl album. The rest of the tracks on CD1 and the first 4 tracks of CD2 are the tracks that never made it onto the album from the album session. The remaining 15 tracks on CD2 have never been released before and are made up of recordings from Rehearsals and Gigs.


All of the 41 tracks of were re-mastered from a range of sources including Cassette, Reel to Reel Tape and good quality original Vinyl Recordings! The quality of some of these recordings was “variable,” so some digital spit and polish had to be applied... other tracks required very little digital re-work. The final result was far better than we had hoped for...... Interest in the Double CD has been widespread, with albums being shipped all over the UK, USA and Japan!

A note.. first many thanks to all of you who ordered the CD...

We have to apologise to those of you who have shown interest in the CD but were informed that the CD was unavailable.... The CD project was carried out as to preserve the original recordings... we "manufactured" CDs to supply a dedicated band of fans from way back... Demand for the CD will never be LARGE so we have never intended to have the CD "pressed" hence the availability of the CD has always depended on getting the time and resources together to "hand craft" a small batch. Being a double CD just adds to the time involved.. If you are interested in purchasing a copy of the CD please email us and we will put you on the reserve list.. we will let you know a soon as possible when the CD will be available. We apologies for these delays but at least you know each CD is extremely rare*** and has been lovingly "hand made." .. thanks .ed.
